Dmitry Malikov is the official composer of Moscow’s first International Light Festival “Circle of light”! The event takes place on the 21-23 of October, and features 365 light and multimedia installations by the biggest artists and designers from all over the world, accompanied by Malikov’s music! The “Circle of light” electronic suite composed by Dmitry Malikov exclusively for the event will be presented on the grand opening of the festival on the 21^st of October on Red Square. More than a million citizens will watch the festival on the streets of the capital, and over 10 millions will watch live translations!

Dmitry Malikov will be a special guest at the Russian premiere of the “A sixth part of the World” show, that will be presented in Barvikha Luxury Village Concert hall September 30 by the famous british pianist Michael Nyman. Dmitry will be opening the concert playing the theme from Jane Campion’s “The Piano”.

“I didn’t think twice, when I got a chance to take part in this unique show. – Dmitry says. – Like Mr.Nyman, I also make experiments and create my own videos. The only question was to choose the track for this concert& First we thought it would be the soundtrack from “The Libertine” with Johnny Depp, but finally decided to take the “The Piano” movie, which is better known in Russia. For me as a pianist it has a special meaning”.

This 1^st day of June on the Children’s Day Dmitry Malikov has visited the Blokhin N.N. Scientific and Research Institute for Children’s Oncology and Haematology. He has taken part in the children’s holiday that was organized by the workers of the Fund of Social and Cultural Initiatives headed by Svetlana Medvedeva. (more…)

Yesterday Dmitry Malikov has spent about 3 hours in the orphan home for children suffering from deaf-blindness in Sergiyev-Posad. The artist has come with his daughter Stephanie and workers of the Charity Fund Touching the Heart which has been established recently by Dmitry Malikov. The children have given a small concert which took the fancy of the public. (more…)
